The Action has achieved its objectives, mainly to promote and accelerate the uptake of eInvoicing among communities and municipalities in Cyprus, building on the results of the CEF eInvoicing Action (2015-CY-IA-0052) by piloting the eInvoicing platform (PEPPOL complaint) in the Municipality of Nicosia. The eInvoicing platform has been customised and tested to suit the needs of the Municipality of Nicosia.
In addition, the Action undertook information gathering and analysis of existing ERPs (Enterprise Resource Planning) used by the Regional and Local Authorities in Cyprus in order to ease the adoption of eInvoicing by the local and regional authorities. 383 local authorities were enrolled to the eInvoicing platform to enable receiving and processing of the electronic invoices compliant with EN.
Moreover, dissemination of the Action’s results to the relevant stakeholders from the local and regional level was ensured. A sustainability strategy setting out the activities to be implemented until 2020 was prepared to ensure the take-up of eInvoicing by the local and regional authorities.
